Hello! Welcome to the new Maura Murray Case Discussion Forum and Message Board. We've created a place online to discuss everything related to the Maura Murray case. As you likely know, Maura Murray was a college student at UMass Amherst who went missing after a car crash in New Hampshire on February 9th, 2004. Whether you have been following and investigating this case for years, or are a newcomer who just heard Maura's story via the new Oxygen Channel Maura Murray Documentary, we invite you to participate!
We do have a few rules which need to be follow to keep things flowing as smoothly as possible.
#1- BE KIND. This is not just a forum rule, but should be a rule of life. We're adults. It's always been very troubling to see adults being nasty to people online and during discussions. That's very counter productive and doesn't get us anywhere. We will not tolerate name calling, hate speech, or just being overall crappy to other commenters. This seems like it shouldn't need to be said, and I hope we do not see it on this board.
#2: TREAT OTHERS AS EQUALS, WHETHER THEY ARE NEW TO THE CASE OR NOT. No one is "better" than someone else...it doesn't matter if you've spent ten years on this case or ten days. The Disappearance of Maura Murray is currently a cold case that no one has been able to solve. No one has "ownership" over it, and the best chance of getting new clues that could lead to a breakthrough is by working together.
#3- NO DOXXING, HARASSMENT, OR BULLYING. Do not give out personal information of other people. This includes addresses, telephone numbers, etc. When in doubt, think "Would I want this information posted about me?". Doxxing is a crime in many jurisdictions, and is something taken very seriously.
#4- TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR POSTS. This was created as a public forum for anyone to express their ideas or opinions. Anything you post belongs to, and represents, you. The board creators do not hold responsibility or necessarily share any opinions of what is posted, and do their best to monitor posts to make sure they follow guidelines. Each specific post belongs to the user who posted it, and by joining the forum they accept that as a term. (See TOS page). Follow all rules and laws within your location.
# 5- KEEP IT ABOUT MAURA. By now, you know this board is about Maura Murray and discussion pertaining to her case. There will be a specific 'Off Topic' forum to post anything else in. If it's not about Maura, take it to OT.
#6- COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. All material posted from copyrighted material MUST contain a link to the original work and follow Fair Use. Title 17, Chapter 1, Section 107 US CODE: Title 17,107. If you don't own it, don't post it.
#7- NO SPAM. NO PORN. Just no.
#8- If any rules are broken, it is up to the moderation team to decide what action to take. Generally, a user will receive a warning and post deletion, but if it severe or repetitive you may not be able to use the board. Not all disciplinary actions will be public, and moderators are not obligated to discuss any disciplinary actions taken against anyone with any other member.
Rules and TOS are subject to change at any time. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to contact a mod.
